Menace To Sobriety 2: The Re-Up Studio Sesh #1 || 3.25.11

Just another night in the studio cookin’ up classic material. In this video you’ll get a feel for the studio vibe & even get a sneak peek into one of the tracks called “Mothership” produced by my homie Hassani Kwess.

A Day In The Life of A Yellow Lighter

A good friend of mine, Jordan Shartzer shot & directed this short film & I was completely amazed by it. He’s a passionate dude so I knew he did good work but, the concept, originality, & quality blew me away. I also had a few other close friends play roles in this film, and they also did incredible jobs. Props to the homies, Trei, Parker, Helio, & my fellow MC RIM.

Light Bringer: Takashi Murakami

Takashi Murakami has become one of my favorite contemporary artists. Besides the fact that I’ve been obsessed with Japanese culture literally, since the time I was conscious of anything Takashi Murakami’s art & his approach to it is beautiful & inspiring. I first became aware of him due to his work on Kanye West’s “Graduation” album & was an instant fan. Takashi Murakami brings a fresh approach to art, media, & is even the inventor of the style known as “Superflat“. For these reasons and many more, Takashi Murakami is a true Light Bringer.

Brief Bio:
Takashi Murakami (村上 隆 Murakami Takashi?, born in Tokyo), is a prolific contemporary Japanese artist who works in both fine arts media—such as painting—as well as digital and commercial media. He blurs the boundaries between high and low art. He appropriates popular themes from mass media and pop culture, then turns them into thirty-foot sculptures, \"Superflat\" paintings, or marketable commercial goods such as figurines or phone caddies

Dope Quote of the Day || 3.31.11

“Being good in business is the most fascinating kind of art. Making money is art and working is art and good business is the best art.” Andy Warhol

PHOTOLEG – Wormizm Pizza

PHOTOLEG or Deezy as I like to call him, is a good friend of mine & an insane visual artist. Not to mention dope dj & one of the only people I take serious musical suggestions from. This is some of his latest work. I really dig it & I’m sure you will too. Peep It.

Menace To Sobriety 2: The Re-Up [Teaser #2]

This is the second trailer for #MenaceToSobriety2: The Re-Up. The tape is coming along incredibly, thanks for all the support. Be sure to download it on 4.20.2011 If you smoke trees you should be smoking to this. Even if you don’t, get high anyway. Shouts to my mans Xodus gettin’ his cameo on in the video.

M1 Platoon – Metro Kids [Video]

M1P are the homies & this is their 1st video so you know I had to throw it up. The video’s dope & really captures the essence of the Washington, D.C. Metro Area, which ties back in to the title of the song. Check it out.

Kyle Milz – The Hitlist Vol. 1 (Target Practice)

Kyle Milz has been my homie for almost half a decade now, if not longer. This is his 1st mixtape ever so be sure to give it a listen. I must say, I dig what I hear so far & for a 1st project there is tons of potential here. Give it a listen on DatPiff

Light Bringer: Big L

Big L is without a doubt one of my favorite MCs of all-time, ever, ever-ever. I remember the 1st time I heard a Big L record. I was like 13 & my older cousins were playing Madden & the “7 Minute Freestyle” feat. Jay-Z. All I could remember thinking was “How the hell did he come up with that?”. L is one of the greatest ever & is the reason a lot of your favorite MCs out now rhyme the way they do. For these reasons & many more Big L is a true Light Bringer.

Brief Bio:
Lamont Coleman (May 30, 1974 – February 15, 1999), also known by his stage name Big L, was an American rapper who made significant contributions to the New York City music scene in the 1990s as a member of the hip hop collective D.I.T.C.
